Comrat Municipality

Comrat municipality is the city in the Republic of Moldova and the administrative centre of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. Comrat municipality has a population of 26.2 thousand inhabitants. Overall population of autonomy is 162 thousand inhabitants. The total population in the radius of 50-60 km is circa 410 thousand inhabitants. The municipality is an important economic industrial center. Comrat is the center for food processing factories, alcohol production and oil processing, apparel and furniture industries.

About FEZ ”Valkaneș”, Comrat subzone

The Free Economic Zone (FEZ) represents excellent platform for export-oriented manufacturing companies, which benefit of preferential customs and tax regime. FEZ “Valkanes” was established in 1998 for a period of 37 years. It administrates 4 subzones with a total area of circa 200 hectares, namely in Vulcanesti City (2 subzones –107 hectares); Comrat Municipality (50.3 ha) and Ciadir-Lunga Municipality (42 ha).

Greenfield, Comrat subzone

Comrat subzone is located in the northern part of Comrat Municipality in the proximity of 4 km from the city center. The FEZ has immediat access to European road E584 connecting the cities of Poltava (UKR) and Galati (ROU). The land plot area is 50.3 hectares.
